Dr. Gary Margolies was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. He attended and graduated from Occidental College, also in Los Angeles. He graduated from the University of California School of Medicine, San Diego in 1987. He completed a Residency and Chief Residency in Internal Medicine in 1991 from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee. He finished his formal medical training in 1994, completing a Fellowship in Rheumatology at the University of Alabama, Birmingham.
Dr. Margolies has been certified in Internal Medicine and Rheumatology by the American Board of Internal Medicine. He has worked as an Instructor in Medicine at Vanderbilt and University of Alabama Hospitals. Before coming to Tennessee, he lived and worked in Lexington, KY practicing Rheumatology.
