Renata Alexandre is a certified nurse practitioner who also holds a PhD in Health and Human Performance, and has three Masters Degrees in: Nursing, Divinity and Sociology. Clinically, her passion is sleep medicine. She is an expert in diagnosing and treating all of the 74 known sleep disorders. She has specialized training in cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia (CBT-I) which involves clinical evaluation of sleep schedules and habits, relaxation techniques, guided imagery, correction of circadian rhythm misalignment, and behavioral techniques to optimize the sleep environment and sleep quality. In addition, she has expertise in tailoring treatment for patients’ individual needs including medication selection and weaning or reducing doses of sleep aids. She has nearly a decade of clinical experience in sleep medicine.
